Experience the Flavors of Sapporo & Toyama
This November, we’re bringing the flavors of Japan to Beaverton! From November 12–25, 2025, join us at Uwajimaya Beaverton for a celebration of two amazing regions: Sapporo and Toyama.
- Sapporo, the lively capital of Hokkaido, is famous for snowy winters, scenic landscapes, and comfort foods that warm the heart — like rich miso ramen, buttery corn dishes, and creamy dairy treats.

- Toyama, along the Western coast of Japan, is known for its beautiful waters, mountains, and fresh seafood, especially sweet white shrimp (shiro ebi). Its cuisine is simple, seasonal, and full of natural flavors.

These fairs aren’t just about food — they’re also about friendship. Sapporo has been Portland’s sister city since 1959, Portland’s very first sister-city relationship. Toyama and Oregon have been sister partners since 1991, building decades of cultural and educational connections.
At Uwajimaya, we’re proud to celebrate these lasting ties. This fair is our way of sharing the food, traditions, and flavors that connect Japan and Oregon.
