Spicy Fried Tofu (Japanese Style)



1 – 16 oz Block of Tofu

1/4 cup Flour


1/4 cup Soy Sauce

2 Cloves Garlic, crushed

1 tsp. Grated Fresh Ginger Root

1/2 tsp. Ground Chili Pepper

2 Tbsp. Sugar

2 Tbsp. Mirin

1/4 cup Vegetable Oil


Cut tofu in half crosswise. Cute each section into 4 equal rectangles. Drain well. Dust with flour and pan fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. Bring sauce to boil and serve with fried tofu.
