At Uwajimaya, we’re always looking for new ways to share the flavors we love—and this one might be our favorite yet.
We’ve teamed up with our Seattle neighbors at Pagliacci Pizza to create something fun: the Uwaji Pie—a special, limited-time collaboration available March 19 through April 14, 2026.
This collaboration is especially meaningful because it’s rooted in a real, longtime connection. Over the years, our teams have crossed paths not just as businesses, but as customers and fans of each other. Pagliacci co-owner Michelle Akiyama Galvin has been a fan of Uwajimaya since she was young—visiting our stores, exploring the aisles, and discovering new flavors along the way.
When Michelle met our CEO, Denise Moriguchi—whose family has long loved Pagliacci—it quickly became clear that we shared more than just a love of food. We share a deep commitment to community, culture, and bringing people together. That familiarity and appreciation for Asian ingredients helped inspire this pizza and made the partnership feel like a natural fit.
The Uwaji Pie is packed with bold, Asian-inspired flavors you might recognize from our shelves:
- Teriyaki chicken
- Chili crisp–roasted pineapple
- Pickled red onions
- Green onions + furikake
- Finished with a drizzle of teriyaki mayo
It’s sweet, savory, tangy, and just a little spicy.
At Uwajimaya, we love seeing how flavors can cross cultures and show up in new ways. Whether it’s trying something new from our aisles or tasting those same flavors on a slice of pizza, it’s all part of the experience.
