Fried Won Ton

A thin pastry skin, filled with ground pork and vegetable, and deep-fried.


1 pkg (12 oz) won ton skins

1/2 lb ground pork

1/4 cup water chestnuts, chopped

1/4 cup bamboo shoots, chopped

1/4 cup onions, chopped

1 tsp salt

1tsp soy sauce

1tsp cornstarch

Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce

2/3 cup sugar

1 Tbsp rice vinegar

3 Tbsp ketchup

3/4 cup water

2 Tbsp cornstarch

Mix all sauce ingredietns in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sauce thickens.


Combine ground pork with remaining ingredients. Portion 1 tsp filling on center of each skin. Moisten edge with water and fold to from a triangle, press to seal edges. Overlap opposite corners, moisten with water and press firmly. Deep fry a few won tons at a time in hot oil at 375F, turning frequently until golden brown on all sides. (about 2 minutes)

Serve with sweet and sour dipping sauce, hot mustard and/or ketchup.
