Wednesday GO Nights at Seattle Uwajimaya

6pm to 8pm

The Japanese game of Go (wéiqí in Chinese, baduk in Korean) is an Asian strategy game that originated in China more than 3,000 years ago. Want to learn how to play? Join the Seattle Go Center and Uwajimaya on Wednesday evenings for a free beginner’s lesson in the Seattle Uwajimaya food court.

Aomori Japan Food Fair

June 24-30, 2015

Explore and sample some of the delicacies of Hachinohe and other cities in Aomori Prefecture at our Seattle and Bellevue stores June 24-30, 2015 as we welcome over a dozen specialty vendors from Japan!  Enjoy tasting and demonstrations at our Seattle and Bellevue Stores from 11am to 5pm.

Vendors Include:

  • Kanesho - High quality apple dressings and vinegars made from famous Aomori apples
  • Kashiwazaki Seika - Known for their black garlic and gobo root products. Black garlic is fermented in pure water and is a delicacy of Aomori while gobo root is believed to provide health benefits
  • Aji no Kakunoya - Featuring a variety of seafood items including red fish, mackerel, saury, scallops and black rockfish
  • Shingomura - Enjoy a variety of delicious Japanese senbei (rice crackers) in various flavors including apple and creamy caramel

Natsu Matsuri Summer Festival at Beaverton Uwajimaya

Join us for a fun, family friendly outdoor Japanese festival on Saturday, July 18th!  Free admission, great food, live entertainment and even a watermelon eating contest!

There will be a performance by a special guest from Japan, singer song writer Ryukichi Amacho at 1pm .  Plus enjoy, performances from: Takohachi Taiko, Unit SouZou Taiko, Flamenco Dance Group, Leo Dance Group, Portland Aikikai and Kyokushin Karate Ito Dojo.
