About Kenji

Kenji is a bestselling author, including of the James Beard Award-winning The Food Lab and The Wok, as well as the popular children’s book Every Night is Pizza Night. He also shares his culinary expertise on his widely-followed YouTube channel, where he posts cooking videos often filmed with a GoPro. Kenji is a New York Times food columnist and the Chief Culinary Advisor for Serious Eats, a site known for its deeply-tested recipes. Formerly the chef and co-founder of Wursthall in San Mateo, Kenji is now a partner at Backhaus, a bakery specializing in sourdough and European-style pastries. He lives in Seattle with his children, Alicia and Koji.
