Longan Fruit

Longan are tropical fruits native to China, and can also be found across south-east Asia.

Longan grow in bunches on trees, have a brown bark-like shell, and white translucent flesh with a small round black seed. In China, the visual of the white flesh and black seed is the reason why longan are also called dragon eye.

Longan are used in Chinese medicine as a remedy for a number of ailments, for healthier skin and to calm the mind and body. 

Longan are part of the soapberry family, which also includes Lychee and Rambutan.
