Murgi Chicken

Ingredients:

3 lb. chicken fryer, cut up

2 tbsp. vegetable oil

2 large onions, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp. ginger, minced

1 tsp. ground coriander

1 tsp. turmeric

1 tsp. ground cumin

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. cardamom

1/2 tsp. cayenne

1 tsp. salt

1 cup plain yogurt

1/2 cup sour cream

2 medium tomatoes, chopped

Preparation:

Makes 4 servings

In a large skillet, brown chicken in heated oil, remove chicken and set aside. Sauté onion and garlic until golden. Add next eight ingredients. Mix yogurt and sour cream together and add to skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, cover for 40 to 45 minutes or until chicken is tender. Toss in tomatoes.

Serve with rice, Indian bread, chutney, and cucumber salad.
