Fried Won Ton

style : Chinese

Ingredients:

1 pkg. 12 oz. won ton skins

1/2 lb. ground pork

1/4 cup water chestnuts, chopped

1/4 cup bamboo shoots, chopped

1/4 cup onions, chopped

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. soy sauce

1 tsp. cornstarch

 

Sweet and Sour Sauce:

2/3 cup sugar

2 tbsp. rice vinegar

3 tbsp. ketchup

3/4 cup water

2 tbsp. cornstarch

Preparation:

Makes 50 pieces

Mix all sauce ingredients in saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sauce thickens. Set aside. Combine ground pork with remaining ingredients. Portion 1 tsp. filling on center of each skin. Moisten edge with water and fold to form a triangle, press to seal edges. Overlap opposite corners, moisten with water and press firmly. Deep fry a few won tons at a time in hot oil (375 degrees F.) Turning frequently until golden brown (about 2 minutes).

 

Serve with sweet and sour sauce, hot mustard or ketchup.
